Aircraft parts manufacturer ASTK (067390) recorded the highest semi-annual performance in its corporate history.

On August 14, ASTK announced through its semi-annual report that it had achieved revenue of KRW 120.8 billion (approximately USD 88 million) and an operating profit of KRW 2.6 billion (approximately USD 1.89 million) in the first half of the year. Revenue increased by 64% compared to the same period last year, marking the largest semi-annual figure to date. The operating profit represents a turnaround from the KRW 19.7 billion (approximately USD 14.36 million) loss recorded in the first half of the previous year.

However, the net profit for the period recorded a loss due to the one-time recognition of initial research and development expenses associated with the delivery of the first unit of the freighter conversion project (IAI B777 P2F) in June, as well as accounting expenses such as inventory asset valuation recognized at the end of the half-year.

ASTK projected that it will be able to maintain its growth momentum through business portfolio expansion via new projects such as the freighter conversion business and the ongoing development of the Embraer C390.

A company representative stated, “With the integrated logistics warehouse completed last year now fully operational and additional large-scale machinery newly installed, we expect to accelerate the stabilization of existing projects such as the B737 Section 48 and Embraer E2, along with the transition to mass production of new businesses,” adding, “The proficiency of workers engaged in new projects has also improved, which is expected to significantly enhance profitability.”
